Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Business Application Services Branch as a Programmer Analyst.

What will you be doing?

As a member of the Business Applications Services team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting business application systems for a variety of clients.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing day to day application maintenance and support functions.
  • Supporting digital transformation projects to replace legacy applications.
  • Interacting with various stakeholders (Business Team, Project Teams, Application Support Team, and appropriate teams within SNB) to collect and understand client and technical requirements.
  • Proposing solutions to address requirements/user stories.
  • Estimating effort and timelines for the implementation of proposed solutions.
  • Developing, documenting, testing and implementing technical solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Providing support to Product/Business Owners for user acceptance testing as required
  • Collaborating with other teams within Technology Services to investigate and ensure implementation of effective system solutions.
  • Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines

What do you need to be successful?

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years related experience in system development OR a two (2) year college diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in system development.

Demonstrated recent experience utilizing one or more of the following is required:

  • .NET Framework Development (C#, VB.NET. .NET Core (C#) or Java development or Oracle forms development.

    and

  • SQL server, .NET Framework Development (C#, VB.NET. .NET Core (C#) or Java development or Oracle forms development.SQL server procedures and SQL functions or Oracle Database experience and PL/SQL

Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience applying software development methodologies, with a focus on business analysis and systems requirements development.

  • Experience with development process tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, etc.

  • Experience with development tools such for .Net Core/.Net Framework, Visual Studio, SSRS, Oracle Forms, Oracle APEX, Oracle Business Analytics, etc.
  • Experience in database development tools for SQL or Oracle

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Salary: $59,046 - $82,576 annually – Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
