ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Western Zone is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant to join the Hospitalist Program at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the Hospitalist team, supporting the delivery of comprehensive inpatient medical care under the supervision of a staff physician. Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital is a 44-bed acute care centre in Western Newfoundland, delivering a broad range of secondary and select tertiary services to the Bay St. George region.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Eligible for licensure as a Clinical Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy privileging and credentialing requirements of NL Health Services Western Zone including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as a member of the Hospitalist team to assist physicians with patient rounds, admissions, and discharges
- Perform other duties as required within the scope and qualifications of the Clinical Assistant licence
- Provide after-hours, weekend, and statutory holiday on-call coverage as assigned
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary Hospitalist team
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
