DUTIES

The International Programs Coordinator will provide coordination and support to inbound student mobility projects and programs run by the Internationalization Office.

Core duties include supporting international exchange and visiting students coming to Memorial for short- term study and research; liaising with Memorial's network of international partners to help facilitate those exchanges; administering the nomination, application, registration, welcoming (including referrals for health insurance and immigration), onboarding, and engagement of visiting students and scholars; serving as a navigator, when required, for requests requiring access to Memorial University's units and resources; maintaining databases by networking regularly with faculty and units that are carrying out international activities; providing information on, and applying for, scholarship programs offered through Global Affairs Canada, as well as providing follow-up support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing communications expertise and support to faculty and staff across all units; writing external funding proposals to potential funding sources; organizing on and off campus opportunities and events to promote internationalization; assisting with the maintenance of the inventory of Memorial University's international MOUs and exchange agreements; assisting pan-university mobility counterparts with best practices in risk management and mitigation and student exchange administration; engaging with faculty, staff, trade commissioners, and consular officials at global universities and governmental departments; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in post-secondary institution, with emphasis on international programs and mobility; completion of coursework towards a master's degree is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have a high level of organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage a varied workload in a busy environment. Excellent communication (writing, visual, and interpersonal) skills and a demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse language and cultural backgrounds in a higher education setting; high-level computing skills, including familiarity utilizing information management systems (e.g. Banner Student Information System or similar); experience in project management, event planning, process management, as well as a demonstrated ability to carry out primary quantitative and qualitative research and experience in writing funding proposals; and knowledge of the Canadian context of post-secondary education and the broader context of international education are essential. The ability to communicate in a language other than English, and coursework towards a graduate degree, are assets.

SALARY $67,414 - $91,929 per annum (Management and Professional)
