The Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries (DAAF) is seeking an individual to join the Marketing and Trade - Food Branch as a Project Executive. This position is currently located in Fredericton, however, another DAAF office location may be considered.

Who we are:The Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries, Marketing and Trade - Food Branch, is responsible for facilitating increased business opportunities and market diversification of New Brunswick's seafood, agri-food, beverages and value-added products through market development, market research, promotional activities, trade missions, tradeshows and other actions that provide support for both local and export initiatives.

What you will do: As a member of the Marketing and Trade - Food Branch and reporting to the Manager, Export and Trade, this position will support the development and expansion of international markets, with a focus on advancing the agri-food and seafood sectors of New Brunswick.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting international market research, including analysis of trends, opportunities, and trade environments;
  • Monitoring market intelligence and global trade developments that may impact the sector;
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of market development strategies and promotional initiatives;
  • Preparing briefing notes, reports, presentations, and other written materials;
  • Providing administrative and operational support to the marketing team, including organizing files, maintaining records, and coordinating documentation;
  • Coordinating and participating in trade shows, trade missions, in-market activities, including travel as required;
  • Collaborating with internal teams, government partners, and industry stakeholders to support export growth and aligned market initiatives;
  • Tracking and organizing leads generated through trade and marketing activities;
  • Supporting the coordination of marketing tools, assets, and resources;
  • Other related duties may be assigned as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Science, or a related discipline, and a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in export trade, marketing, and/or the food industry;

OR

  • A Master's in Business Administration, Science, or a related discipline, and a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in export trade, marketing, and/or the food industry;
  • A minimum of one (1) year of project management experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

  • Planning and organizing skills;
  • Presentation skills.

Operational Requirement(s): Must be prepared to travel within and outside of the province, including international travel as required; working outside of the standard work hours as required; and possession of a valid class 5 driver licence as issued by the Province of New Brunswick, or equivalent,

Wage: Pay Band 5 - $67,600 to $94,406 annually

Work environment:

  • Office location: Hugh John Flemming Forestry Centre, 1350 Regent Street, Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • Work hours: Monday to Friday / 8:15 to 4:30; 36.25 hours per week.
