Job Summary

As a Bilingual Virtual Trainer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality virtual education and support programs that strengthen the reach and impact of the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. Reporting to the Manager of Education & Outreach, you will facilitate engaging online learning experiences for healthcare professionals, persons living with dementia, care partners, and community members across New Brunswick.

Working as part of the Education & Outreach team, you will coordinate and deliver virtual education sessions, facilitate online support and contribute to the development of innovative learning opportunities that improve dementia care and awareness throughout the province.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate virtual education sessions and workshops for healthcare professionals, community organizations, persons living with dementia, care partners, and the general public.
  • Facilitate virtual support, social and education programs for persons living with dementia and their care partners.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of ASNB virtual programs, services, and projects.
  • Develop and deliver customized virtual education sessions that meet the needs of diverse client groups.
  • Deliver U-First!® workshops in both English and French through virtual and hybrid learning platforms, with occasional in-person delivery as required.
  • Participate in and maintain U-First!® certification requirements, mentoring activities, and continuing education.
  • Assist with evaluating virtual education programs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop engaging and culturally relevant educational resources and learning materials.
  • Build relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to increase awareness of ASNB services.
  • Maintain accurate program records, participant information, and confidential files.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, organizational initiatives, and provincial or national activities as required.
  • Support awareness campaigns and outreach initiatives that promote dementia education across New Brunswick.
  • Occasional travel for training, conferences, meetings or special events may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must be fully bilingual in English and French. Unilingual candidates will not be considered.
  • Diploma in Health Sciences, Social Services, Adult Education, Community Services, Office Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience facilitating virtual or in-person education, training sessions, workshops, or group programs.
  • Strong presentation and virtual facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience using virtual learning platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and learner-centered education.
  • Experience working in healthcare, community services, education, or the nonprofit sector is considered an asset.
  • Experience delivering U-First!® education is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online collaboration tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Sensitive to the impact of dementia on individuals, families, and care partners.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
  • Valid New Brunswick driver's license with the ability to travel occasionally.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate virtual programming.
