The Department of Social Development is seeking a qualified individual to join the Corporate Services team as a Facilities Coordinator for the Southwest zone, located in Saint John.

As a member of the Corporate Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating facility activities and providing a variety of related administrative support services to the Corporate Services team. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate building maintenance, office moves, workspace needs, site visits, and compliance with facility regulations and collaborate with DTI, Landlords and Property Managers to resolve various facility issues
  • Oversee equipment procurement, replacement, inventory, and management of IT assets, phones, and accessories.
  • Lead process and conduct ergonomic assessments and follow through on equipment orders and implementation.
  • Participate in and lead Joint Health and Safety Committee initiatives, conduct and manage incident investigations, and implement safety recommendations.
  • Manage government fleet vehicles and provide usage reporting.
  • Handle PPE supply, replacement, and compliance when applicable.
  • Maintain and improve file management systems in compliance with legislative standards (Records Management).
  • Support HR initiatives and assist in SOP creation as needed.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and corporate strategy alignment.
  • Serve as primary contact for facilities and operational issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Need to have:

  • Education gained through high school or GED, supplemented by post-secondary education, typically a one (1) year program plus a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in an office setting. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Nice to have:

  • One (1) year supervisory experience
  • Experience coordinating facilities, operations, or corporate services in a complex or multi?site organization;
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices within a regulated or public?sector environment.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to transport themselves for work purposes. Travel within the region and some travel within the province is required.
