Reporting to the Regional Outpatient Departments Manager, this position will work as a team with other clerical to perform duties related to the organization of outpatient clinics at the Labrador West Health Center.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Successful completion of an approved Medical Terminology program OR willingness to complete within a reasonable timeframe to be set by the employer
  • Effective communication skills with clients, staff and the general public
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with an ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

  • Utilizing CorCare, processes, registers and books appointments for all family doctors, specialists and visiting specialists, as well as other assigned clinics/services;
  • Utilizing CorCare, maintains waitlists;
  • Completes in-basket tasks in CorCare as assigned;
  • Assists Family Care Team as required;
  • Answers incoming calls;
  • Receives and processes all outpatient loose filing/ reports;
  • Receives all relevant documents following each specialty clinic and processes accordingly;
  • Checks for mail and distributes/re-directs as necessary;
  • Sets up and maintains office files, reports, correspondence, and miscellaneous information in an organized manner;
  • Operates general office equipment and completes faxes, photocopying, filing, and shredding as required;
  • Performs other related duties as required.
