Salary: LX-27 (CAD32.16 - CAD40.20 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance)

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved course in Radiological Technology;
- Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and maintain current registration with NLHCP.
- Experience in general radiology techniques in an accredited hospital;
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, hazards, and techniques of the Radiology Department, skill in the use of all radiology equipment and in the performance of required examinations;
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
- Be willing to upskill, train and gain certification in CT, Mammography or PACS as required by the departmental needs.
Duties (Included but not limited to):
- Performs routine, non-routine, general radiology exams and other specialized diagnostic procedures as required.
- Collects patient medical history related to testing, reviews previous reports, if available, explains procedures to patients, positions patients for x-rays based on their range of mobility and condition to ensure quality imaging. Reviews the image for quality, annotates (e.g. notes placement of image, left or right), and enters applicable notes, etc. to the system.
- Enters completed scans and physicians written orders into the electronic system for access by the radiologist.
- Operates all equipment with confidence and efficiency.
- Must assume responsibility for the general radiography service when required, which includes quality control, equipment maintenance, orientation of other staff members and ongoing educational upgrading.
- Working with a Provincial PACS imaging system, quality controls all the images in each exam done by the incumbent and verifies all patient demographics are correct before verifying every exam and the images to the Provincial PACS Long- and Short-Term Storage.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and self during examinations and procedures.
- Troubleshoots all equipment and makes service calls where applicable.
- Protects the confidentiality of patient information and abides by the rules and regulations of NLHS, which are reflected in its philosophy, policies and procedures.
- Must be willing to work evenings, day shifts, weekends, per departmental schedule, and be an active member of a team of Diagnostic Imaging Technologist covering on call outside the scheduled working hours on the departmental rotation.
- Other related duties as required.
