The Health Services Supply Chain Branch of Service New Brunswick is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the dynamic leadership position of Category Manager.

As a member of the Procurement team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the category sourcing plan that delivers targeted outcomes such as savings, process improvements, new technologies and increased patient outcomes. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals responsible for RFx execution, sourcing strategies, contract lifecycle management, and operational procurement support.
  • Assess incoming RFx initiatives and assign workload appropriately based on complexity, priority, team capacity, and category expertise.
  • Interpret and apply the Procurement Act, trade agreements, and organizational procurement policies to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and support fair and transparent procurement practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to support effective collaboration, negotiations, and service delivery.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a University Degree or an equivalent in Business Administration and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience with at least two (2) years in management.
  • Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Project Management experience
  • Facilitation, negotiation, conflict management, financial and problem-solving experience.
  • Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) certification or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and marketplace, with preferred experience in healthcare supply chain and procurement practices.
  • Strong understanding of the New Brunswick Procurement Act and Regulations.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirements are also required:

  • Periodic travel throughout the province is required, and you must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment

Salary: $78,546 to $104,494 annually - Pay Band 6 - Management Non-Union pay plan.
