­Senior Supervisor, Energy Control Center

­Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the on-shift supervision of overall system operation to ensure that the power systems are operated in the safest, most reliable, and economic manner with due consideration for impacts on the environment. This includes having final approval authority for all maintenance outages.
  • Ensure all planned activity has no impact on other neighboring utilities and the impact of all unplanned activity is minimized and restored in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the on-shift supervision of all interconnection and interchange activities in a safe and reliable manner according to regulations and operating agreements.
  • Responsible for the administration of corporate policies, and provides real-time oversight and supervision for on-shift system operators

­What We're Looking For:

  • Excellent leadership qualities, written and verbal communications skills and organizational abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with members of various teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Be able to respond in a clear and logical manner during rapidly changing conditions.
  • Thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules, including familiarity with safe switching practices.
  • Must possess a good, efficient working knowledge of computers and various applications
  • Must have experience working with SCADA and AGC applications.
  • Must work a rotating cycle of shifts.

­What You'll Need:

  • You have completed a three (3) year Electrical or Mechanical Technology program at a recognized technical school.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a System Operator in an Energy Control Center would be considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
