Hours: 75 (12 hours, Rotating; Weekends, Days) (Fly In/Fly Out) 75 Hours Biweekly (Rotating; Days, Weekends) Hours of work will follow the flexible work schedule in accordance with article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement based on 75 hours bi-weekly (by mutual agreement). This is a rotational position that will provide Mental Health & Addictions Services to the community of North West River/Sheshatshiu. Accommodation and airfare (from airports within Newfoundland and Labrador) will be provided by the employer.
Salary: CGHP39 (CAD40.88 - CAD49.71 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance)

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions, the primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized mental health and addiction services to individuals, families and groups, including screening, assessment, counselling, education, referral, and advocacy. The incumbent works within a multidisciplinary team setting, and in addition to clinical services, works with other team members to develop and deliver health promotion and other educational sessions in the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor?s degree in Social Work or a Graduate Degree in Clinical Psychology, or a Clinical Counselling discipline;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in assessment and counseling preferred;
- Experience in mental health and/or addictions, including individual, youth, family and group counselling;
- Experience in crisis intervention and the ability to respond to the emergent needs of clients;
- Knowledge and experience in the areas of health promotion/prevention and the development and delivery of education and training programs;
- Strong analytical, facilitation, written and oral communication skills;
- Certificate of Conduct and Eligibility for registration with appropriate regulatory association;
- Preference will be given to applicants residing in the community
- Preference will be given to candidates fluent in Innu-aimun (identify on application)
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in Newfoundland and Labrador
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Provide assessment, counselling and referral services;
- Conduct interviews with individuals to assess the nature and extent of problem areas;
- Facilitates individual treatment plans through consultation with client(s), family members and other service providers;
- Locate and arrange resources, in consultation with other service providers, based client needs;
- Provide brief therapy to clients and families, based on client needs and goals;
- Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of services;
- Develop and deliver education/mental health and addictions promotion programs;
- Utilize the principles and practices of Continuous Quality Improvement in service and program delivery;
- Maintain workload statistics, completes accurate and timely clinical documentation;
- As a member of the Regional Mental Health and Addiction Services Team, provides support to other members of the interdisciplinary team, which may include providing coverage and/or travelling to various parts of the Region to assist with service delivery;
- Perform other related duties as required
- This position will also assist in covering Mental Health & Addictions (Mobile Crisis
Response) at the Mani Ashini Clinic and Labrador Health Centre.
