Manager, Finance & Treasury
The Manager, Finance and Treasury, is accountable for overseeing the operation of WorkplaceNL's accounting system and processes, including the professional reporting of financial results and implementation of key accounting controls. This position plays a key role in assisting the organization to monitor and achieve corporate goals through effective investment and asset management, administration of the budget process, implementation of timely stewardship reporting and the use of business case analysis.
Role Responsibilities
- Accountable for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of WorkplaceNL's accounting system and processes, including the professional reporting of financial results and implementation of key accounting controls
- Develop and complete Board reporting including but not limited to the annual financial reporting, funding statements, projected statements, cash flow analysis, annual budgeting for administration, capital and projects.
- Provide direction and guidance to junior staff in completing monthly, quarterly and year-end reports, account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate recording of financial outcomes in the financial reporting system.
- Monitor bank accounts and recommend strategies to effectively support cash management in time of borrowing and excess cash.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a flexible financial model for analysis to generate long-term financial projections
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Chartered Professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum five years' progressive experience in financial accounting operations including financial statement preparation, preferably at a management level.
- Experience in the management of investment or pension funds is an asset.
- Strong leadership abilities, well-developed planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
