Class 3 Driver (Local) + Hitchhiker

Shaw Brick is seeking a dependable Class 3 Driver to operate a flat-deck delivery truck and a hitch-hiker forklift for our Centre in Dartmouth, NS. This is a full-time delivery position with drivers home daily. Typical shifts are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, depending on delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities & Priorities:

· Safely operate a flat-deck truck for daily deliveries to residential homes and construction sites.

· Use a hitch-hiker forklift to accurately load, unload, and transport building materials including brick, concrete, and other palletized products.

· Ensure loads are properly secured before transport.

· Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment and ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety.

· Provide professional, friendly, and efficient service to customers on job sites.

· Operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all applicable provincial and federal transportation regulations, including Hours of Service, cargo securement, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.

· Maintain required documentation including driver logbooks and proof of delivery.

· Safely operate a hitch-hiker forklift (on-the-job training provided).

· Communicate and work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications:

· Valid Class 3 License with air brake endorsement. Manual transmission is required.

· Clean driver abstract.

· Minimum two (2) years of commercial driving experience.

· Forklift experience

· Safety-focused with a positive attitude and excellent customer service.

· Self-motivated, punctual, and reliable.

· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

· Willingness to participate in our Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.

· Experience delivering building materials to residential and/or construction sites an asset.

· Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
