ANCILLARY SERVICES: Athletics, Recreation, Operations & Wellness
The University of New Brunswick REDS are the non-academic unit within the Ancillary Services unit. Through athletics and recreation programming they strive to be national leaders in wellness, sport, and recreation excellence. The REDS also lead many internal and external general events across various facilities in hopes of being engaged within our community. The Athletics, Recreation, Operations & Wellness (AROW) unit operates within the Ancillary Services group.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 7:45 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week (Summer Hours)

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Some Evening and weekend hours required as necessary for event coverage.

Salary Range: $46,251 - $57,812 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Manager of Marketing and Special Events, the Digital Marketing Officer assists with the implementation of communications and marketing functions for the REDS. This role plays a key part in the creation and oversight of digit marketing assets and the social media and web presence of the REDS.

  • Maintain an accurate record of REDS digital assets including logos and photography.
  • Prepare social media templates for regularly used graphics (ie. recruit announcements and game scores).
  • Create and/or oversee creation of digital products for REDS Recreation to use for their operation including monthly schedules, posters etc.
  • Work with REDS team in the creation of major documents such as bid proposals and annual reports.
  • Create synergy in digital assets between REDS main social accounts and team-specific social accounts.
  • Creation of detailed social media schedules, to ensure optimization between accounts and events.
  • Assist in the development of a REDS marketing plan.
  • Ensure websites are kept up to date and in good order.
  • Endeavor to grow the audience and engagement levels of REDS social media platforms.
  • Act as REDS expert on web and social analytics and make recommendations on strategy with the data available.
  • Make real time announcements of social media for time sensitive matters such as cancellations and important updates.
  • Provide on-site communications support for REDS events.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary diploma in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a marketing and communication field.

  • Ability to work effectively independently and with others.
  • Strong graphic design skills (photoshop etc), social media skills and digital experience considered an asset.
