Position: Onshore Labourer

Job Summary: The Onshore Labourer provides general support across a variety of operational and maintenance activities in an industrial or commercial environment. This role involves performing manual tasks such as cleaning, painting, handling tools and materials, and assisting skilled trades personnel.

PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous labour or industrial experience
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Forklift Certificate considered an asset
  • Hard Working and Dependable
  • Strong Safety Background
  • Basic PPE (safety boots, coveralls, hard hat, work gloves, safety glasses, rain gear, etc)
  • Must pass Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general labour duties including cleaning, sweeping, and maintaining work areas
  • Assist with surface preparation and painting tasks (e.g., sanding, masking, coating)
  • Handle, transport, and organize tools, materials, and equipment safely
  • Support skilled tradespeople (e.g., mechanics, electricians, technicians) as required
  • Assist with inspection and basic maintenance of lifting equipment and associated gear
  • Participate in loading and unloading materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Actively participate in the safety programs within the company
  • Actively participate in safety, departmental, pre-tour, client meetings, etc.
  • Monitor the environmental conditions to ensure the safety of operations in the facility or work area
  • Ensure that approved operating procedures are adhered to at all times. Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards to supervisor
  • Effectively use all safety and environmental tools employed in the facility or work area
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Assist in basic rigging, hoisting, or material handling activities (as trained)
  • Other duties as assigned
