Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate summer student to join our Recreation Team. This role supports the planning and delivery of meaningful programs and activities that enhance quality of life, social connection, and overall well-being of our residents.

Hours of Work

• 35 hours per week
• May include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings. Schedule will vary depending on resident leisure needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning daily programs
• Leading recreation programs
• Support coordination of outings and special events
• Assist with gardening and seasonal activities
• Keep supplies organized
• Help organize and promote fundraising initiatives
• Encourage resident participation and engagement
• Documentation
• Work collaboratively with staff, families' volunteers and Resident Council
• Follow all policies, procedures, and safety standards

Qualifications & Skills

• Currently enrolled in school
  (Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Health Care, or related field preferred but not required to apply)
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Professional, respectful, and dependable
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Creative, energetic, and self-motivated
• Genuine interest in working with seniors
