­Key Responsibilities:

You will carry out inspections of contractor vegetation management activities and prepare reports on the results of inspections.­ You will maintain primary field contact with stakeholders in vegetation management activities including customers, municipalities, Federal parks (Gros Morne), and the Department of Defense in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and explain the work plan in each area. You will also be responsible for inspecting areas for qualities and quantities of forestry operations and compliance with environmental regulations.

­What We're Looking For:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and physically capable of undertaking field work programs.

­What You'll Need:

You have graduated from a two (2) year Forest Technology program. You have experience with commercial forestry operations, environmental legislation and regulations, field measurement techniques, field equipment and procedures, and field supervision of contractor staff. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. You must possess a valid driver's license, as extensive travel and use of an ATV will be required. You must be familiar with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations dealing with the use of pesticides.

­The following would be considered assets but not required:

• Courses in electrical safety in line clearing/tree trimming operations and/or utility arborist training.
• Experience in Integrated Vegetation Management programs.
• Pesticide Applicator License - Industrial Vegetation Classification.
• ATV Rider Safety Training.
