Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Work Execution and Operations Manager, Soldiers Pond, the Technical Supervisor - Electrical/Mechanical will be a multi-craft supervisor, who will lead the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of all assets and ensure staff are well trained and technically competent oversee all maintenance for the A/C and D/C equipment related to the transmission assets located at Soldiers Pond and other sites. This role will establish special tooling and equipment needed for the crews and support development and delivery of adequate training programs.
The incumbent will assign work to employees to ensure the best possible use of resources and materials, and that any necessary outages are kept to a minimum duration. This position will also supervise employees engaged in completing all capital projects on schedule, administer the collective agreement, as well as review and approve timesheets.
The incumbent must ensure the necessary tools, equipment, spare parts, etc. are properly maintained and are available for use when needed. In addition, the incumbent will respond to emergency situations such as equipment failure and supervises employees to correct the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible. This position also provides verbal and/or written reports to the Operations leadership on problems encountered, corrective action taken or recommended, and conducts planned general inspections as well as accident/investigation investigations.
This position will work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policies & Procedures and strive to eliminate any potential risk which could result in personal injury or occupational illness. The incumbent should be familiar with the Environmental Policy and Guiding Principles and applicable environmental Standard Operating Procedures.

What You'll Need:
High school graduation and either graduation with an appropriate technology diploma or the attainment of an appropriate journeyperson status. A minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in utility maintenance supervisory function is also required.
