Fundy Trail Provincial Park is one of New Brunswick's crown jewels. Spanning 2,559 hectares along the southern coast, the park features a stunning 30 km parkway with breathtaking views of the world-renowned Bay of Fundy. Open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October, it offers visitors an unforgettable chance to connect with nature and history.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial to the park's smooth operation in providing exceptional support to staff, visitors, and park management, while fostering positive experiences and maintaining operational excellence.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Office Manager, as a member of the Fundy Trail Provincial Park team you will play a pivotal role in managing the administrative functions of the park.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Greeting visitors, answering telephone, screening calls, and providing necessary follow-up in both official languages
  • Maintaining a positive, professional presence while handling park-related inquiries concerning events, amenities, camping, fees, etc.
  • Preparing, proof-reading and editing correspondence and other documents as required
  • Receiving, sorting, and forwarding emails, mail and preparing replies to routine correspondence and requests
  • Participate in the handling of camping permit/reservations
  • Coordinating and attending various meetings, recording meeting minutes and collating park statistics
  • Maintaining an orderly and efficient filing system
  • Receiving, recording and distributing park supplies and uniforms.
  • Keeping workspaces, washrooms, and kitchen areas clean and organized
  • Performing other related duties as required

Who you are:
You are someone who prides themselves in exceeding client expectations, being flexible and supporting members of your team. You are experienced in providing administrative support. You must be a team player who works with attention to detail and possess strong interpersonal, communication skills and are self-motivated.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:

  • A high school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • Anequivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have:

  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with staff, the public, and park management
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Adaptability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
  • Familiarity with park programming or tourism-related activities

Wage:
Administrative Services Level 2: $19.57 - $23.45 per hour

Work environment:

  • Office location: 229 Main Street St. Martins; Fundy Trail Provincial Park Administrative Building
    Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre (Fundy Trail Provincial Park)
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Please note that this position requires variable and extended hours - shifts may include evenings, weekends, holidays
  • This position may require some travel within the province
  • Uniform provided
