JOB PURPOSE

The Activity Worker is responsible for organizing and implementing activities for patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduation plus an additional program in the field of human services or social sciences of over six months and up to one year in duration or equivalent.
  • Specialized education or experience may be required in some areas.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Activity Worker is responsible for:

  • Planning and implementing activities and events
  • Encouraging and supporting patients to participate in activities and events
  • Maintaining equipment, supplies, and activity areas
  • Observing patient activities and providing relevant information to other health care providers
  • Scheduling and overseeing volunteers for activities
  • Maintaining clinical records and documentation
