JOB PURPOSE

This is supervisory clinical and technical work in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, producing high quality images with electromagnet and radio waves. Work involves supervising, coordinating, and overseeing operational functions of the service in an area/zone and providing expertise to staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be registered with the New Brunswick Regulatory College of Medical Radiation Technologists
• Must be in possession of Medical Resonance Imaging Program Certification
• Minimum of three (3) years progressive related experience and demonstrated leadership ability.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role is responsible to:

• Supervise day to day operations including scheduling of staff
• Triage, schedule patients and assign work.
• Participate in performance appraisals.
• Train and mentor new staff and students; support staff educational opportunities.
• Provide clinical expertise to staff, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
• Assist with development and implementation of policy and procedures and ensure adherence.
• Assists with purchasing equipment and order supplies.
• Participate in the selection, implementation and evaluation of new products and equipment.
• Perform the functions of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist 2 and/or other medical imaging functions.
