The Opportunity:

The Business Process Automation & Optimization Analyst plays a key role in improving operational efficiency by analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, and delivering automated solutions using Medavie's approved AI, low code platforms, and workflow technologies. This role bridges business and technology-helping teams work smarter, reduce manual effort, and enhance employee and client experiences.

This is a 12 month term position, which will include benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Analysis & Optimization

  • Map and document current?state business processes using standard methodologies (e.g., swim lanes, SIPOC, process mapping).
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization across workflows, including complexity, change impact, and risk.
  • Recommend simplified, scalable future?state processes aligned with business goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and establish measurable performance indicators.

Automation Development & Delivery

  • Build and configure automated workflows using AI tools, low code/no code platforms, RPA, or workflow engines.
  • Design solutions that reduce manual work, improve accuracy, quality and accelerate turnaround times.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of automated solutions.
  • Familiar with agile delivery or sprint-based workflows.
  • Maintain and update automations to reflect evolving business needs.

AI Enabled Process Enhancement

  • Identify where AI can augment or accelerate existing processes.
  • Create prompts, templates, and workflows leveraging generative AI, Agentic Intelligence and copilots.
  • Help operational teams adopt AI responsibly and effectively.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with business partners to understand their needs and translate them into clear automation and optimization requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT, Data teams, and Process Owners to ensure successful integration and adoption.
  • Support change management through documentation, training, and user guidance.

Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and measure automation performance and ROI.
  • Analyze process and automation data to drive ongoing improvements.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to optimize and automate workflows.

Required Qualification:

Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Technology, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, automation, or digital operations roles.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with methodologies: Agile delivery, SDLC, user acceptance testing, change management, process mapping
  • Ability to design, build, and maintain automated workflows.
  • Experience with AI platforms, automation tools, or low code technologies like Co-pilot and Power Automate, Alteryx
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
  • Proficient in VBA (without relying on the Macro Recorder).
  • Strong understanding of SQL and ability to write queries.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Language Skills: English, written and spoken. French would be considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range:
73,465 - 82,648 CAD

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
