JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent coordinates an interdisciplinary team and provides, based on the stepped-care model, a full range of social work services to a clientele of children and youth presenting mental health or addiction issues.
The social worker ensures, among other things, the clinical direction and the coordination of services related to the one-at-a-time (OAAT) therapy initiative. This person is responsible for providing direct services to children and youth with mental health or addiction issues. They also keep up-to-date on community resources and facilitate access to those resources for the patient, family and natural support network.
Their duties include assessment, treatment, helping relationship, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation, and prevention. They also provide clinical leadership, supervision and coordination of the clinical services delivered by the interdisciplinary team, in addition to being responsible for the distributuion of clinical cases within the department.
They work closely with the manager to ensure the smooth running of the department and ensure that staff adhere to professional standards as well as current policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW);
- At least one year clinical experience in mental health or addiction services with children and youth;
- Progressive professional experience demonstrating leadership skills;
- Training related to the stepped-care model (or a commitment to undertake the training in a set time frame);
- Training related to one-at-a-time (OAAT) therapy (or a commitment to undertake the training in a set time frame);
- Knowledge of software programs currently used within the Network;
- Ability to build effective partnerships with the community network;
- Keen sense of responsibility and a high degree of independence;
- Organizational skills and ability to set priorities;
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
- Good work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
- Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
