SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Regional Director of Emergency Services, the incumbent serves as the employer's representative and exercises management authority over all Emergency Department staff. They are responsible for managing the department's human, material and financial resources, and participate in the administration of applicable collective agreements on behalf of Vitalité Health Network. In performing their duties, the incumbent serves as a strategic leader by assuming administrative, managerial and organizational responsibilities. Through their role, they actively contribute to the quality of care and patient safety by implementing effective governance, monitoring and continuous improvement mechanisms. The incumbent works closely with the entire organization, including patients and internal and external partners. They make a significant contribution to the department's objectives and take on any other related responsibilities needed for it to run smoothly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in administration or another relevant field;
- Master's degree in health care management, an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of the emergency care clinical setting, sufficient to support informed supervision and management of the department;
- Minimum of eight (5) years' experience in health care management or equivalent;
- A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered;
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proven leadership, conflict resolution and change management skills;
- Proven skills in managing human, material and financial resources;
- Strategic-thinking skills and innovative and collaborative management style;
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks;
- Strong managerial resilience;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
- Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
