Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4:30PM

Job Overview:

Advantage Personnel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Conventional Machinist to join our client in New Glasgow. This role is ideal for a hands-on tradesperson who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a shop environment focused on quality, safety, and craftsmanship.

You will be responsible for machining and repairing components using manual equipment to support a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate milling machines and lathes
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
• Produce precision components to exact specifications
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards
• Assist with machine setup for production processes
• Support and guide apprentice team members as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of machining experience
• Strong understanding of milling and lathe operations
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Machinist trade certification preferred (3rd and 4th year apprentices will be considered)
• Knowledge of materials and machining processes
• CNC experience is considered an asset
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Preferred:

• Red Seal Machinist certification (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in industrial repair or custom fabrication environments
