Our Calgary Office is hiring a Geotechnical Drilling Technician to join the team, as a successful candidate you will be part of an exciting team and projects.

Your main responsibilities
- Receiving Drilling instructions from the geotechnical team detailing out the drilling program;
- Reviewing the drilling instructions with the drilling coordinator or engineer for the project;
- Completing private locates prior to drilling;
- Directing the drilling program onsite with the drilling crew;
- Soil classification of the boreholes, including completing borehole logs, collecting soil samples;
- Submitting soil samples to the lab;
- Inputting borehole logs using gINT software;
- Review of soil logs and drilling locations with the engineer;
- Collecting water levels by installing instrumentation such as inclinometers or vibrating wires, hand augering, and test pitting;
- There would be opportunity to inspect deep foundation installation and pond liner installation when required;
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.
What makes you unique
- A degree or a diploma in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering would be considered an asset;
- Construction experience would be considered an asset;
- Understanding of geotechnical borehole field logs and how they assist in preparing geotechnical reports would be considered an asset;
- Must be able to communicate effectively with project manager and clients;
- Physically fit and ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions;
- Good oral and written English communication skills;
- Ability to work shift, overtime and weekends;
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
