Position Scope:

In this role, you will lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, ensuring all activities align with organizational goals and rigorous industry standards. You will work closely with production and supporting departments to implement continuous improvement practices, with a specific focus on process optimization and streamlining changeovers. A core part of your responsibility involves reviewing and maintaining critical QA documentation including Critical Control Point (CCP) records, to ensure full compliance with internal protocols and audit requirements.

Furthermore, you will play an active role in both internal and external audits, addressing any findings to drive quality improvement initiatives forward. When food safety or quality concerns arise, you will assist manufacturing teams in identifying and executing effective corrective actions. To keep the organization informed, you will compile and present quality performance reports to management, providing the actionable insights necessary to refine operations. Finally, you will foster a culture of excellence by engaging in team discussions and Toolbox meetings to promote quality and safety awareness throughout the company.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily on-site in a manufacturing environment in plant operations.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Must be able to work with allergen items including Wheat, Onion and Dairy.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education within a science specialty would be considered an asset.
  • Previously experience would be considered an asset.

The ideal candidate prioritizes workplace safety by strictly following all established policies and procedures. You possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively, demonstrating strong time management and the flexibility to work both independently and as a collaborative team member. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

Additionally, certain specialized qualifications will be considered strong assets. These include a demonstrated understanding and application of 5S principles, familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality, and comprehensive knowledge of WHMIS and HACCP protocols. Finally, strong computer literacy is highly valued to support your daily responsibilities and maintain regulatory compliance.
