Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Program Consultant of the Children and Women's Health Program, the Wait List Manager is accountable for the continued development, implementation, management, evaluation, and sustainability of clinical wait lists for the Children and Women's Health Program at the Janeway Hospital. The incumbent ensures appropriate access to clinical services through continuous liaison between wait list patients, physicians, bookings offices, division managers and health care facilities.
The position ensures services are delivered efficiently and effectively, meeting the outpatient and inpatient waiting time targets while adhering to Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services strategic and operational plans. Accountabilities include but are not limited to: implements guidelines and procedures related to Wait List Management which ensure safe and timely scheduling of services. Works to improve efficiency by reducing inappropriate demand on services and developing and implementing best practice models, such as establishing central intake processes. Identifies issues that impedes full utilization of capacity to deliver activity in an efficient and effective manner. Works with division managers in undertaking capacity planning and data reporting to best inform medium and long-term planning. Participates in ongoing regional waitlist reviews. Manages financial resources in an effective and efficient manner. Provides leadership in the ongoing development of electronic waitlists and data reports. Collects, analyzes, validates, and maintains wait time information with a focus on data accuracy within and across divisions and departments. Builds and maintains collaborative relations with internal and external stakeholders such as staff, clients, families, provincial programs/departments, and other health agencies. Participates in a number of committees applicable to the role as identified in collaboration with the Regional Program Consultant.
Job Qualifications
Education
Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline is required.
Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years' acute care experience within the last seven (7), with extensive knowledge of the Children's and Women's Health Program is required.
Previous experience with Community Wide Scheduling is preferred.
Experience in program development is preferred.
Experience in/knowledge of programs and services which utilize waitlists is preferred.
