Duties

Under the general supervision of the Director of Planning, Engineering and Development, the Inspection Services Manager provides management leadership and operational oversight for inspection services within the Planning, Engineering and Development portfolio.

The position is responsible for supervising inspection staff; owning inspection?related resident complaints and follow?ups; ensuring inspection findings, permit conditions, and compliance requirements are tracked, enforced, and closed; coordinating enforcement actions and high?risk inspections; developing and implementing operational processes and procedures; supporting system and software implementation; and providing performance reporting and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications

· Graduation from a post?secondary institution in Building Technology, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

· Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in municipal inspection, compliance, regulatory services, or equivalent.

· Demonstrated experience in a management or supervisory role or function, preferably within a public?sector environment.

· Considerable knowledge of municipal inspection processes, regulatory compliance, and operational risk management.

· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Experience driving process improvement, systems implementation, and performance reporting.

· Ability to work effectively with senior management, Council, staff, and external stakeholders.
