INTEGRATED HEALTH INITIATIVE (PROMISE PARTNERSHIP)
The Promise Partnership, an outreach initiative of the Integrated Health Initiative, is dedicated to assisting children and youth in economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. In this program, UNB students act as mentors and tutors in nearby schools and community centres, concentrating on enhancing literacy, numeracy, and digital competencies for students from K-12. Annually, our programs offer over 125 volunteer opportunities, providing valuable academic support to local youth.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

- Some regular evening and weekend availability is required.
Salary Range: $50,149 - $62,686 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Managing Director Promise Partnership, the Discovery Program Coordinator will plan and deliver educational enrichment activities that inspire youth and foster a love of lifelong learning. Supervising a team of program instructors, this role will ensure high-quality program delivery and will work closely with Faculty and staff to coordinate program activities.
- Design, deliver, and coordinate the Discovery educational enrichment programs for children and youth on the UNB Saint John campus during the school year, summer camp, and evenings.
- Oversee the curriculum for all sessions in the summer program as well as the activities led by Discovery program instructors on school visits.
- Supervise the work of Discovery program instructors (UNB students) as they develop educational activities for different age groups for which the Discovery program is designed.
- Collaborate closely with and support the work of Promise Partnership staff, mentors, and curriculum developer to ensure program quality and alignment.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Summer Discovery Program instructors (UNB students) and Discovery Evenings instructors.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to program staff to ensure high-quality program delivery and professional development.
- Organize, supervise, and deliver the Field Trips to the UNB Saint John campus program, including outreach and relationship-building with local schools.
- Develop and coordinate both on-campus field trips and school visits led by Discovery program instructors and UNB faculty and staff.
- Oversee all aspects of program delivery, including scheduling, booking university spaces, and coordinating faculty and staff participation.
- Coordinate the administrative aspects of the program, including social media, organizing sessions, and overseeing logistics.
- Oversee the program budget and procurement of materials and supplies.
- Coordinate meals and snacks for program participants with UNB Catering Services.
- Collaborate with UNB Marketing on program promotion.
- Maintain strong relationships with participating schools, families, and community partners, represent UNB publicly,
- Consult with external partners on program design and delivery.
- Collect program data, monitor outcomes, and prepare reports for internal use and funding agencies.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum 3 years managing and/or delivering educational programs for children and/or youth.
- 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Prior experience with educational program design, project planning and implementation, including managing a budget.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- Education degree is preferred.
- Experience in designing and delivering experiential education programs is an asset.
- Organizational, time management and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage staff and work collaboratively with a diverse range of partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Adept with office computer applications.
