Job Details:
JOB PURPOSE
To provide in-depth nursing care to patients undergoing IR procedures – monitor and assist. Administer conscious sedation when required and monitor these patients during the examination, as required.
Provide assistance to the anesthetist when a patient must receive general anesthetic for IR procedures.
To assist in the development and implementation of objectives, policies, procedures and standards of care pertaining to Medical Imaging services.
Assist the Interventional Radiologist in the care of patients undergoing specialized procedures.
Monitor the patients' responses to procedures and react accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active registration with the New Brunswick Association of Registered Nurses Previous IR experiences an asset.
- At least three year's experience in Adult acute cardiac and vascular management of critically adult ill patients, one of which must be within the last year.
- Current certification in ACLS, Hemodynamics or willing to obtain such within 3 months of commencement of job.
- All recerts are up to date.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position with no impediment to working wearing a lead apron for prolonged periods of time.
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Monitor Interpretation (BCMI); Challenge tests can be set-up on request.
- Must be willing to incur overtime as required for completion of late running cases.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
