SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

For the surgical suite and preoperative clinic sectors, the incumbent is responsible for managing, organizing, coordinating, planning and evaluating activities related to patients. They manage nursing staff as well as physical and material resources. They ensure the quality of care and services offered and maintain communication between staff, patients, the multidisciplinary team and the community. They facilitate change, decision-making and autonomy for their staff and patients, and ensure staff training and skills maintenance. The incumbent creates a climate conducive to research and professional development, and collaborates with the director of the sector on administrative tasks. They may perform any other related duties as per the needs of the department.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Member in good standing of the Nurses Association of New Brunswick
  • Bachelor of science in nursing
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
  • Minimum of five years' clinical surgical experience within the last eight years
  • Two years' experience in health care management in a hospital environment (asset)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other software commonly used within the Network
  • Keen interest in acquiring new knowledge and taking part in training courses
  • Proven abilities in leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to function in a changing work environment
  • Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions and resolve conflicts
  • Proven ability to organize and manage own work
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
