Vice President Community

With an annual budget of $1.2 billion, 14,000 staff, 1,200 physicians, 1,300 volunteers, 17 foundations and 20 auxiliary and alumnae organizations, Horizon Health Network is the largest regional health authority in New Brunswick and the second largest in Atlantic Canada. Committed to delivering quality and safe care in English and French to patients, clients and their families, Horizon operates 12 hospitals and more than 100 medical facilities, clinics, and offices throughout New Brunswick, northern Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Horizon is dedicated to educating the health care leaders of tomorrow by training physicians, nurses and other health care professionals and is home to the Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick and Memorial University's clerkship programs. Other collaborative education programs include the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board-accredited Horizon Pharmacy Residency Program, the Clinical Psychology Residency Program, The Moncton Hospital Post Graduate Dietetic Internship Program, and The Moncton Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and the Saint John School of Radiological Technology.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President Community is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and contributes to setting overall vision, direction, and priorities. The VP Community provides leadership and accountability for the provision of strategic expertise, advice, services, and partnerships with communities. Working closely with senior leadership and government departments, the Vice President Community will champion advancements in primary health care, public health, addiction and mental health and population health, and well-being in addition to development of collaborative partnerships and strong working relationships with leaders in Horizon and other public sector organizations. In summary, the VP Community is a key player in ensuring that the delivery of community health services continues to meet the province's needs.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and energetic leader who wants to make a significant impact in healthcare and in the lives of New Brunswickers. As the ideal candidate, you are comfortable championing and leading critical change and bring a track record of major transformation initiatives related to community health, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness. A master's degree in a related discipline with direct experience in a large multi-site or complex organization. A minimum of ten years of progressive leadership management experience and demonstrated ability to work effectively in partnership with senior leaders, boards, and government officials and departments will round out your qualifications. Exposure to the public sector is helpful, as is an understanding of or affinity with the Maritime communities, culture and partnerships that define Horizon's environment.
