Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a Regional Tobacco Control Leader to join our team!

Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking an innovative, committed, and adaptable individual to join our team as a Regional Tobacco Control Leader. The ideal candidate will have experience in using a facilitated model, program planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as demonstrated presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Experience in change management and project management would be an asset.

Who you are

You have a university degree in a health-related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered).

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Bilingualism would be an asset.

What you will do

  • Expert Resource & Clinical Leadership

    • Serve as a subject matter expert in tobacco and vaping control, influencing policy, decision-making, and clinical practice at organizational, provincial, and national levels.
    • Stay current on emerging evidence and best practices; critically evaluate and translate findings into clinical application.
    • Build and maintain partnerships with researchers and national/international experts to advance evidence-based care.
    • Design and deliver comprehensive education programs for interdisciplinary clinical teams across diverse care settings.
    • Develop and facilitate tailored case-based learning to address real-world cessation challenges.

    Systems-Level Change & Program Leadership

    • Lead system-wide change initiatives by translating knowledge into practice.
    • Contribute expertise to the development of policies, protocols, clinical tools, and reporting standards to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
    • Develop and execute annual work plans aligned with organizational and provincial health priorities.
    • Foster strong partnerships with clinicians, leaders, and stakeholders; act as the primary liaison between clinical sites and the Centre of Excellence for Smoking Cessation.

    Quality Improvement Leadership

    • Monitor and evaluate program performance using data to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and implement solutions with stakeholders.
    • Identify program challenges and lead innovative, data-driven solutions to improve quality and outcomes.
    • Facilitate QI initiatives, including assessments, gap analyses, and implementation of targeted improvements through standardized processes, reporting and evaluation frameworks.
    • Guide site teams in evaluation activities, including data collection, audits, and qualitative feedback, to measure program impact.
