JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Asset & Maintenance Manager to lead our asset management strategy and drive operational excellence. This role is designed for a professional with deep industry knowledge, robust leadership experience, and a passion for optimizing asset performance. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing our asset management strategy, overseeing the full lifecycle of our fleet assets, and driving operational excellence through data-driven decision-making and effective team leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive asset management strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Budget Oversight: Build and manage the annual maintenance and capital budgets, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee asset acquisition, onboarding, disposal, and lease-to-own transitions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define and report on key KPIs to support timely, informed decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Manage relationships with third-party maintenance providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal asset utilization.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation & Optimization: Lead trailer rebuild and asset life extension programs, and identify technologies or practices that enhance asset performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in asset management, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience with TMT is an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a track record of data-informed decision-making.
  • Bilingualism in French is an asset but not required.
