JOB DESCRIPTION
The job involves demonstrating thought leadership and providing innovative solutions to achieve operational excellence. As an Asset and Maintenance Manager at RST Industries, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an asset management strategic plan, directing day-to-day activities of the asset management team while overseeing asset purchase, onboarding, disposal, lease-to-own activities, leading trailer rebuild programs and asset life extension, creating annual budgets, and reporting on key KPI's.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate thought leadership and innovative solutions in recommendations to realize operational excellence.
  • Clearly set and communicate department strategy to align with company vision and strategic plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership effectiveness and ability to coach direct reports to achieve results and enable people development.
  • Create and manage the annual maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Responsible for the development of short-term and long-term capital plan.
  • Develop core set of KPI's allowing the business to make timely, accurate decisions based on analytics.
  • Report on performance, budget variances, and significant changes in asset performance.
  • Manage company assets including purchase, disposal and transition to lease-to- own.
  • Interface and manage relationships with operating partners and third-party maintenance providers, vendors, affiliates, customers, and internal stakeholders to minimize costs and optimize asset utilization.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and in compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Lead on trailer rebuild and asset life extension programs.
  • Identify industry and business applications that will have a large impact on asset management performance.
  • Spec equipment based on core application and region to ensure maximum efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Possess 10+ years of professional experience in asset management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Knowledge of TMT would be an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite services.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities to drive long-term success.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas and strategies.
  • Proven track record of innovation and implementing creative solutions.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving key objectives.
  • Strong negotiation skills to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
