Position: Healthcare Security Guard - Full-Time - Mental Health Extra Coverage- Kingston General Hospital

Site: Kingston General Hospital (KGH) - 76 Stuart

Hours: Continental rotation 0800-2000/2000-0800

Payrate: $22.61/hour

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain a smart, visible, and professional security presence.
• Greet, assist, and direct members of the public.
• Ensure the safety and security of clients, staff, buildings, and assets.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Conduct proactive and reactive patrols (interior/exterior).
• Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as required.
• Document, report, and investigate security incidents and routine issues.
• Perform patient watches as needed.
• Enforce hospital policies, parking/smoking by-laws, and access/key control.
• Complete monthly safety inspections.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)

  • Immunization Form: KHSC Immunization Forms
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
• Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
• Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
• English proficiency (oral & written) is required
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
• 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
• Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to their onboarding certification to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The Stay Safe certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all the costs of the certification with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
