What is the Opportunity?

RBC offers an exciting role as a Benefits Delivery Consultant. In this role you will administer strategic decisions and supervise the day-to-day affairs of a group's pension/retirement and benefits programs including valuation/reconciliation, various testing/analysis, and required reporting. You will apply complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.

What will you do?

  • Lead others in maintaining and validating plan records to include census, contributions, claims, reimbursements, investments, insurance and other plan data as well as ongoing valuation, calculation and reconciliation of trust assets for the plan.

  • Oversee plan testing to include qualification, discrimination and stress testing, as well as plan reporting in accordance with regulatory, legal, accounting and organizational requirements.

  • Provide high level of customer service to pension plan participants and service providers by responding to calls and facilitating requests addressing plan provisions, benefits, payment elections, payments, information updates, changes, etc.

  • Guide and develop less experienced associates, handling more complex calculations, inquiries and issues, and participating in overall plan design/selection and continual improvement.

  • Monitor the benefits environment and delivery mechanisms to recommend and implement innovations or program enhancements.

  • Lead and support program recommendations with fact-based analysis and market-competitive data, to advance benefits strategies, ensuring programs are aligned with business objectives and HR strategy, competitive within relevant markets, reflect the dynamic workforce and are affordable and financially sustainable in the long term.

  • Support the development, design and financial management of benefit programs, including annual monitoring and obtaining of approvals for implementation of changes in the programs for active and retired employees.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5 years experience in a Benefit Administration role, knowledge of benefit plans governance and legislation.

  • CEBS or CHRP and related human resource experience.

  • Excellent technical skills in Excel, VLookups, Pivot Tables.

  • Statistical experience, presentations, data analysis, data management, planned reporting, reconciliation, escalations and investigations.

Nice-to-have:

  • SAP and Workday experience would be an asset.

  • 2+ years Retiree Benefits administration experience is an asset.

  • Bilingual in French would also be an asset.
