The opportunity:

At Lake Road Family Practice, our team of three Family Medicine Specialists is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our patients through exceptional care and positive patient experiences.

We are seeking a Locum Nurse Practitioner to provide coverage for our family medicine practice from September 2026 through March 2027.

Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, encounter documentation, and clinical data using EMR software in accordance with regulatory and privacy standards.
• Respond to patient inquiries in a professional, respectful, and timely manner.
• Review, process, and manage incoming electronic communications, including faxes and test results.
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop appropriate treatment plans, including prescribing medications and recommending follow-up care as required.
• Educate, counsel, and empower patients regarding preventive healthcare, health promotion, and disease management strategies.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Remain current with clinical best practices, emerging medical research, and regulatory requirements to maintain high standards of care.
• Perform other related clinical and administrative tasks as required to support clinic operations.

Working Conditions & Location:

• The ideal candidate will be able to provide clinical coverage for 3.5 to 4 days per week. Currently, providers conduct virtual half-day clinics on Fridays.
• The clinic's team comprises of 3 female family physicians, and their dedicated support staff.
• The clinic is located at 4 Lake Road, Quispamsis, NB.

Experience/Education:

• The Nurse Practitioner Locum must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, a master's degree in Practical Nursing is required.
• The applicant must have successfully completed the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Examination.
• The applicant must be currently registered and in good standing with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB).
• Orientation and clinical onboarding will be provided, including review of clinic workflows, EMR use, and collaborative practice processes to support a smooth transition into the coverage role.
• General knowledge of the New Brunswick medical system is an asset.
