The opportunity:
The Primary Care LPN will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive health care services. This role involves (not limited to):
- Conduct assessments and follow-up visits for a variety of common primary care presentations.
- Perform and/or assist with clinical tasks including vital signs, infant measurements, and routine health checks.
- Administer immunizations in accordance with clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
- Provide prenatal care support and patient education.
- Assist physicians with in-office procedures.
- Complete initial patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Deliver patient counselling and health education within scope of practice.
- Performs all other related administrative tasks or special tasks.
Schedule & Location:
- The LPN position requires on-site availability Monday through Thursday (4) days per week, with no evening, weekend, or statutory holiday shifts. Standard hours are from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
- The team within the clinic consists of a total of 3 physicians and their respective support staff.
- The clinic is located at 4 Lake Rd, Quispamsis, NB.
Experience/education:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) designation with an active nursing license in good standing with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN).
- Previous experience in primary care or a similar setting is preferred.
- Additional experience in pediatrics, prenatal care, geriatrics, and/or mental health or other patient counselling would be considered an asset.
Skills:
- Proficient in administering immunizations and conducting patient assessments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in practice.
- Ability to work on electronic medical record system.
