Job Title: Associate Security Lead
Site: City of Brampton - 150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON L6V0A3
Compensation: $25.48/an hour
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: Sunday to Saturday – Rotating Continental (1200 – 2400) (hours can change due to operational needs)
Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities
- Acts as lead contact for the contracted security team during non-business hours. And represent the Team Lead in their absence.
- Responsible for a team of 20+ security personnel.
- Ensure guards assigned to work at the City meet the mandatory skill set for their assigned location.
- Perform random checks of guards to ensure knowledge and performance meet City expectations.
- Coordinate and distribute uniform and equipment items.
- Ensure guards are licensed, have completed required training, and are in proper uniform.
- Ensure Paladin Mobile Fleet vehicles are up to date on all required services.
- Ensure workplace safety and address safety issues; ensure PPE is available and used as prescribed.
- Complete notebook compliance checks with all staff.
- Complete pre-screening interviews.
- Investigate, review, and address Security Guard complaints.
- Review and assist with the completion of Standard Operating Procedures, Post Orders, and Temporary Standing Orders.
- Conduct disciplinary meetings with unionized and non-unionized staff members.
- Ensure sufficient training hours are allocated to various roles within the City of Brampton.
- Implement TrackTIK software and adjust schedule as per operational needs.
Requirements
- Minimum four (4) years of security guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment (asset).
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisor experience preferred.
- Post-secondary education in a related field considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean abstract.
- Excessive walking, standing, and exposure to all weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
- Proficient with two-way radio and computer applications including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required; bilingual and multilingual applicants preferred.
- Flexible shift availability (security operates 24 hours/day).
- Must complete all required site training within 30 days of on-site hire date.
- Successful completion of CPO certification within first 6 months (training material and course cost covered by Paladin).
- Must have completed a Supervisor Training program before placement.
- Must have completed an Advanced Use of Force course prior to working in this role.
- Must complete and obtain Certified Protection Officer (CPO) certification through IFPO (or equivalent as deemed by the City) within six months of placement into a supervisory position.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
