JOB SUMMARY: The Ship's Cook is responsible for the galley management, cleaning activities, and the preparation of the meals onboard the vessel. This role ensures high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety are maintained in compliance with safety, maritime and environmental regulations at all times.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • STCW Ships Cook or Equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Cook in offshore, marine, or camp environments
  • STCW Basic Safety, Marine Medical, and Security Awareness
  • Seafarer Discharge Book
  • Valid Passport
  • Experience with planning and preparing healthy and varied menus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for crew members.
  • Accommodate dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences where possible.
  • Develop menus in line with company standards and crew needs.
  • Monitor food inventory and submit requisitions to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of galley and storerooms.
  • Supervision and management of vessels hotel function in cabins and accommodation
  • Instruct, organize, supervise, train and motivate assigned crew members, to ensure the assigned work is divided and executed in accordance with expectations.
  • Contribute to a positive working atmosphere and development of assigned crew members.
  • Maintain the safety and environmental regulations on the assigned equipment.
  • Comply with all national, international and local maritime law and regulations as well as industry standards.
  • Report all incidents and near misses according to the company policy and engage during safety drills.
  • Report as per catering company guidelines.
  • Assist in administrative actions on the instruction of the Master.
  • Administration as per catering company guidelines including ordering and store/stock keeping
  • Other duties as assigned.
