What is the opportunity?

As a Data Product Manager, you will bridge data management expertise with product strategy to ensure high-quality, compliant, and client-centric data solutions across RBC Investor Services. You will combine technical leadership, business acumen, and stakeholder collaboration to design, implement, and optimize data frameworks that drive operational efficiency and risk reduction. You will lead initiatives to modernize data delivery, enhance data governance, and resolve complex client or business challenges in a fast-paced, agile environment. Your role is to ensure that business data is well documented and managed across RBC Investor Services. You will be called on to find solutions to complicated data requirements and lead the design, development, testing and delivery.

What will you do?

  • Lead "Data as a Product" strategy for critical products & services across RBC IS, to deliver robust & high-quality data for both internal & client consumption.

  • Partner with product, business, and digital teams to gather requirements, translate legacy data rules into modern solutions, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Analyze business data within existing legacy data delivery channels, understand/translate business rules and define data requirements for delivering through modern tools and channels.

  • Apply financial industry knowledge to drive initiatives in a matrixed environment, balancing agile methodologies with business priorities while managing time-sensitive deliverables.

  • Leverage data to create efficiencies and reduce business/client risks.

  • Consult & confirm critical data elements (CDEs) with business, SME and Domain Experts for implementation of data quality rules specific to business products.

  • Actively manage the status of data quality rules enabled on datasets and investigate identified exceptions from a product Lense.

  • Support Data Product related projects & initiatives.

  • Investigate and provide support for client exceptions & escalations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in data management, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Economics other related field.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.

  • Deep understanding of investment services and financial markets.

  • Deep understanding of Data Management & Governance Concepts.

  • Experience with Visualization Tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

  • Good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, to prioritize & manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience in the financial services industry, and strong understanding of the data lifecycle, including strong focus on data management and data quality practices.

  • Knowledge of general data concepts & technical tools

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
