WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
We are seeking a Data Analyst who works in the Data Engineering team to support the data pipeline strategies and objectives across the bank. The Data Analyst will guide end-to-end process, standards, and guidelines to ensure accurate and efficient data delivery of tasks and projects. This role will work closely with data engineers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure data pipelines, data models, and datasets meet business and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong SQL, data analysis, and banking domain knowledge and can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical data engineering implementation
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Conducts data analysis via data discovery, exploration, investigation, and impact assessments. Apply best practices and illustrate understanding via data flows of systems and processes.
Partner with data engineers and product teams to define data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Perform data profiling, validation, and reconciliation across multiple banking systems and data pipelines.
Develop and maintain data mapping documentation, data lineage, and metadata artifacts
Support the design and validation of data models, data marts, and curated datasets used for analytics and reporting.
Create SQL queries and exploratory analyses to validate ETL/ELT pipelines and ensure data quality.
Assist in defining and monitoring data quality rules, controls, and KPIs across enterprise data platforms.
Work with engineering teams to test and validate data pipelines and transformations before production deployment.
Analyze production issues and work with data engineering teams to identify root causes and remediation plans.
Support regulatory, risk, and financial reporting by ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Contribute to data governance initiatives, including cataloging datasets and documenting definitions.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
4 - 7 years of relevant experience in data analysis or analytics in the financial services sector preferred
Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing large datasets.
Experience working with ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT, Airflow, or similar).
Understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, star schemas, data marts).
Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, or Azure.
Familiarity with data quality and data governance tools (e.g., Informatica IDQ/CDQ, Collibra, Alation).Banking or financial services experience (risk, lending, payments, or regulatory reporting).
Knowledge of Python, Spark, or data engineering frameworks.
Exposure to data catalogs and metadata management.
