M4 is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership across various businesses. As a people leader, you will partner closely with business leaders supporting them in achieving their goals while respecting the unique way each business operates.
We are looking for someone who leads with empathy, builds strong relationships, and understands how to influence. The ideal candidate is proactive, practical, and comfortable taking ownership of ideas and seeing them through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals, including organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Support leaders in strengthening management, communication, and overall team effectiveness while driving employee engagement and organizational performance.
- Lead recruitment and talent strategies, including job design, hiring processes, and workforce planning, ensuring fair, consistent, and effective practices.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
- Identify and support training and development opportunities across the organization.
- Ensure HR policies, practices, and employee programs comply with employment legislation and regulatory requirements; maintain and update policies and handbooks.
- Support compensation and salary review processes, oversee benefits administration and vendor relationships, and ensure competitive, equitable compensation practices.
- Lead initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing, engagement, and retention.
- Oversee HR operations, including systems, employee records, reporting, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Provide direction to the Human Resource Business Partner.
- Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement in HR processes and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- CPHR designation is considered an asset.
- 5-10 years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and employment legislation.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience supporting organizational change or growth.
- Open to travel to alternate sites, as required.
