Summary

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Architect II to join our Cloud Network Infrastructure team. This role is critical for designing, engineering, implementing, automating, and operating our robust network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on supporting critical applications and integrating services within our physical and virtualized environments (including OpenStack, Kubernetes, VMWare, GCP, and AWS). The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in F5 load balancing technologies as well as a strong understanding of advanced routing/switching protocols and their implementation on Cisco, Juniper and Arista line of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, engineering, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions to meet evolving business and application requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and consultation on network solution implementation, assessing aspects such as load-balancing, routing, switching, performance, security, availability, capacity, and operational manageability.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions, including scripting (e.g., Python) and leveraging tools like Ansible, to streamline routine activities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (CSEs, Architecture, Development) and external partners to define requirements, develop strategies, and evolve network architectures.
  • Actively participate in technology development, strategy definition, and architecture evolution for communication platforms and data center networks.
  • Contribute to the implementation of DevOps concepts and Agile methodologies (Epics, User Stories).
  • Provide 3rd line operational support and technical leadership to NOC and Help Desk teams.
  • Manage complex network situations, executive escalations, and ensure network stability and performance.
  • Conduct continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational cost structures and enhance customer service.
  • Make data-driven recommendations for network improvements based on collected statistics.
  • Participate in a 7/24 on-call rotation schedule and perform off-hours work as required.
  • Create and maintain technical and process documentation.
Critical Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of expert working knowledge in IP (WAN/LAN) network infrastructure design, implementation, and operation.
  • Primary Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with F5 load balancing technologies, including design, administration, and support. F5 Certification is highly desirable.
  • Secondary Expertise: In-depth knowledge and practical experience with advanced routing and switching protocols, specifically MP-BGP, SR/MPLS, EVPN and ISIS. Experience with other routing/switching protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, spanning-tree, etc. is also valued.
  • Beneficial Knowledge: Experience with Cisco Nexus-OS and Arista networking hardware.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP protocol stack, and core network protocols (DNS, DHCP, SNMP, HTTP/S, VOIP).
  • Experience with IPSec and MPLS based L3 VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with virtualization, container based and cloud environments such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, VMWare, GCP, and AWS.
  • Proficiency in software development and application development for network automation, including Python and Ansible.
  • Experience with Agile/DevOps/Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong technical leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex situations, escalations, and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements
  • Ability to work flexible hours and participate in a rotational on-call schedule.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are a strong asset.
Additional Requirements

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
