Definition of Work:
The Publications Officer will report directly to the Senior Director - Public Affairs to help implement internal and external communications. The Communications department is responsible for strategic communications, issues management, media relations, internal communications, and external communications. The successful candidate will multi-task, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight timelines. Key duties include assisting with event management, writing and editing a variety of internal and external communications materials, developing and posting content to corporate social media platforms and website. The successful candidate will seek opportunities to proactively share information with target audiences. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with employees and physicians is central to being successful in this position.

Required Qualifications:
* Diploma or Undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent from an accredited/recognized college or university.
* Demonstrated writing skills (i.e. articles, plain language, ad copy, social media, etc.).
* Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills.
* Interviewing skills.
* Motivated self-started and ability to work independently.
* Demonstrated knowledge of social media trends and best practices.

Note: Use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.

* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.

Preferred qualifications:
* Knowledge of graphic design.
* Experience working with content management software
