Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As part of the Enterprise Compliance, the Associate Director, Compliance Controls & Governance is responsible for leading execution of the Compliance controls and governance program, supporting global strategic initiatives and overseeing key technology and training programs.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Oversees the global controls and governance program for Compliance including Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) control rationalization efforts.

  • Supports strategic initiatives including Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Convergence, Training governance and technology portfolio oversight.

  • Oversees ongoing business-as-usual processes related to Compliance technology oversight including working with Compliance Technology and Functions Compliance to deliver status updates to Compliance management. Coordinate the Compliance technology executive committee meeting. Ensure adherence to RBC Enterprise project management requirements

  • Oversees ongoing business-as-usual processes related to Compliance Training governance including ensuring adherence to Compliance Standards and coordinating Training working group/committee meetings. Maintain the Global Compliance Training Standard.

  • Produce Compliance reporting for Functional Operating Committees each quarter ensuring transparency on Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) program implementation status and other key compliance metrics.

  • Coordinates reviews of RBC Board reports prior to submissions.

  • Plan and execute projects with varying levels of complexity and uncertainty including managing project scope, requirements changes, largely understood or limited competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics/assumptions.

  • Provide ad-hoc support on established management reporting and methodologies as required.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Experience contributing to large programs

  • Strong capabilities working with Data, and the ability to distill large data sets into effective visual presentations for senior audiences.

  • Compliance or risk experience supporting a large banking institution

  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices relating to Compliance

  • Experience and ability to deal with senior executives

Nice-to-have:

  • Compliance or other control function experience.

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders.
