Duties:The primary function of the Social Service Worker is to assist the Social Worker in the day-to-day provision and coordination of activities necessary for effective case management. The Social Service Worker is responsible for the provision of distinct administrative and supportive services to clients of social workers receiving interventions and services from NLHS. These activities include, but are not limited to, preparing financial requests, soliciting information on behalf of social workers; arranging/organizing supportive services; and providing supervision of clients, as per program policies and standards, as required by the social worker.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold at minimum: a 2 year Community Studies ? Family Services Diploma or a Bachelor?s degree with a focus in the social sciences and a minimum of two years related work experience or a human/social service related diploma or degree and two years of experience or extended volunteer experience in a health or social care environment. The incumbent must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships is essential. Experience working independently with limited supervision and a willingness to travel are also required. Mileage and appropriate per diems will be paid in accordance with the CUPE Collective agreement.
