Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at Rosecrest Under the direction or supervision of the Director of Care, the LPN is responsible for creating a human habitat and providing care and services to meet the needs of the elders in the cottages. The LPN is committed to alleviating the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom through facilitating small, unexpected pleasures in the day-to-day life of the residents, and by surrendering institutional routines. This is based on the established policies and procedures, Philosophy, Mission, Vision & Values of Rosecrest Communities, and the Eden Alternative TM. The LPN works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in our community.
Responsibilities
Supervise CCA's including coordination and delegation of duties.
Supervises staff and participates in welcoming, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution
Assumes back up senior emergency leader role; coordinates emergency situations and ensures that appropriate action is taken and documentation occurs.
Supervises and/or administers medications and treatments
Assess the initial and ongoing health status and quality of life of residents.
Participate in the delivery of resident care and service.
Communicate pertinent information to team members.
Maintain complete and accurate clinical records
Collaborate with families, physicians, community and professional agencies.
Requirements
Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Nova Scotia
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check

HOURS OF WORK
Rosecrest Communities provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hours of work will reflect operational requirements with the goal of providing safe Resident care.This job description does not include every duty or responsibility that may be asked to be performed. The position may require the employee to perform other related assigned duties.
