This position will be between The Sagewood (Lower Sackville) and Magnolia (Enfiled)

Job Description
The Physiotherapist provides services and programs to residents and staff at The Meadows
A knowledge of the psychological, social, cultural, spiritual and economic aspects of care of the elderly.
Show sound professional judgment and initiative based on training and experience in the field of physiotherapy.
To assess residents referred to Physiotherapy for care and establish a treatment program and/ or recommendations.
To delegate components of treatment to the Physiotherapy Assistant as per professional guidelines
To maintain effective communication with the attending physician and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To educate resident, family member and partners in care as applicable, regarding the condition and the physiotherapy intervention.
To maintain accurate treatment and progress notes and discharge summaries in accordance with professional standards of practice.
Assist in preparation of operating and capital equipment budgets for the physiotherapy department.
To participate in and contribute to the clinical education of physiotherapy students if required.
To develop and implement a Safe Lifts and Transfer training.
To complete a transfer assessment for each resident at admission or when there is a change in functional status
Standards/Scope of practice
The Physiotherapist will comply with the Code of Ethics and the Rules of Conduct of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the practice standards of Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
Requirements
Graduate of a recognized school of Physiotherapy, eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and registered with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
Clinical experience with restorative care, geriatric and/ or long term care preferred.
Must be able to carry out the physical demands of the position.
Must have a Driving license and access to own vehicle
Hours of work
This 0.8 FTE position will involve working between our two homes, The Sagewood and The Meadows. Your schedule will be arranged to meet the operational needs of both locations.
Rosecrest Communities provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hours of work will reflect operational requirements with the goal of providing safe Resident care.
